Test with real practices

There is no separate sandbox: your app can be connected to real practices in both regions as soon as it exists. Two things mark it as unreviewed until Smileline approves it.

The consent screen notice

While the app is in development, awaiting review or has changes requested, the consent screen shows This app has not been reviewed by Smileline yet beneath the requested areas. Owners and managers can still connect it.

The connection cap

An unreviewed app can be connected to at most 25 practices per region. The 26th practice in a region sees This app has reached its testing limit instead of Allow, and the authorisation returns access_denied to your redirect URI. A practice that is already connected can always re-authorise.

The cap is a review control, not a hard reservation: two practices consenting in the same instant at the limit may both succeed.

Practices to test with

Connect your own practice if you run one, or a client's practice with their agreement. A Smileline trial practice works too. The Overview tab of the app shows how many practices are connected in each region and how many webhook endpoints are verified or still waiting for your echo.

Staging

The portal itself has a staging twin at developer-stage.smileline.io that publishes to Smileline's staging region only. It is for Smileline's own release checks; treat production as the place to build against.
