Monitor directory listings
Track your practice's name, address and phone across nearly 1,900 directories, add your listing links and follow the add-or-claim link for each directory.
Open SEO → Listings, then choose a location.
Find the directories that matter to you
The Directory details card lists every directory a dental practice can be listed on: maps and search engines, data aggregators, review sites and social networks, general business directories, dental and healthcare directories, insurance and financing networks, treatment locators, dental tourism sites and official registers. It covers the UK, the US and every EU country Smileline serves.
Your own country's directories are listed first, then worldwide ones, then the rest. Within each group, essential directories come first. Use the filters to narrow the list:
- the search box matches directory names;
- the category and country menus pick one category or country (Worldwide shows directories that serve every country);
- the status menu shows Auto-checked, Needs your URL, Found, Needs attention or Not applicable directories; and
- Dental only hides general directories.
Add your listing links
Most directories block automated searches, so Smileline checks them from your own listing page:
- Click Add or claim listing to create or claim the listing on the directory's site.
- Copy the address of your practice's page on that directory.
- Click Add listing URL, paste it and click Save. The link must be on the directory's own site.
Smileline checks the page on the next scheduled run, every two weeks, or when you click Check listings. Use Edit listing URL to change a saved link.
Directories marked auto-checked are searched without a link. These are Das Telefonbuch and DentNet for practices in Germany, Telefoonboek.nl for the Netherlands and NávštevaLekára.sk for Slovakia. When a search finds your practice, click This is ours to keep that listing.
Check the directories
Click Check listings. Smileline checks every directory with a listing link and every auto-checked directory for your country. A large check completes in several passes.
The headline cards count only the directories checked for this location:
- Listings found counts results with a found status;
- Details matching counts found listings where every detail the listing shows matches Smileline and none differs; and
- Needs attention counts listings that were not found, or whose name, address or phone differs.
A directory shows blocked by the site when it refused Smileline's check and unavailable when the site was down, slow or returned an error. Neither counts as needing attention.
Review contact-detail differences
Each row compares the listing's name, address and phone with the selected Smileline location. A chip such as Phone differs marks a field to correct; Details match means the checked fields match. Opening hours and address parts the listing does not show are not compared.
When a listing is missing or its details differ, Smileline also adds a fix task to the SEO actions queue.
Use:
- Open listing to inspect the checked directory page;
- Add or claim listing to create, claim or correct the listing on the directory's site; or
- Not applicable to exclude the directory for this location.
Click Restore to bring an excluded directory back.
For Bing Places, use Add or claim listing to import the verified Google Business Profile and enable Bing's ongoing Google sync. Smileline does not enable the external sync on your behalf.
Smileline monitors these listings and guides corrections. It does not submit or overwrite directory profiles.
