Use the SEO overview
Read the visibility score, search-attributed leads, provider budget and priority SEO actions.
Open SEO to land on SEO overview. Use it as the weekly starting point before opening a specialist page.
Read the headline metrics
The overview shows:
- Visibility score, a weighted weekly score with a comparable-history sparkline from the SEO signals currently covered;
- Tracked leads, where the retained intake path identifies organic search, Google Business Profile or AI attribution;
- Confirmed value, from tracked leads with confirmed value in SmileLine; and
- Provider budget, the proportion of the current monthly provider ceiling already used.
The line chart shows tracked search leads over time. It does not represent every enquiry received by the practice.
When provider spend nears or reaches the monthly ceiling, a banner explains that new paid-provider checks may pause. Existing evidence and actions remain available.
Work through recommended actions
Recommended next actions lists up to three high-priority improvements. Select an action to read its full summary.
Safe Google Business Profile changes that SmileLine can execute show Approve when they are still open and your role can approve SEO work:
- Select the action.
- Click Load live review to fetch the current Google value and compare the exact before-and-after result. The response is not retained.
- Check the affected SEO surface and proposed outcome.
- Click Approve to authorise the version shown.
SmileLine fetches Google again when it applies the approved local intent. A drifted or no-longer-permitted change reopens instead of being applied.
Other recommendations show an Open link for the relevant surface instead. Follow that link to review and complete the work in the surface that owns it; approving an inert placeholder is never offered.
If your role can manage SEO, use Dismiss while an open or failed recommendation is no longer appropriate. Approved and running items retain their status without offering an operation the server can no longer accept. Approving an executable change queues the work; it does not make the browser wait for a provider response.
Review recent wins
Recent wins records durable SEO events, such as a ranking improvement or a completed action. An empty list means SmileLine has not retained a qualifying event yet.
Configure SEO guardrails and automation
SEO configuration is visible on the overview so the practice can verify the settings that govern every SEO surface. People with SEO management permission can:
- confirm the primary website domain used for bounded audits;
- lower the tracked-keyword, grid-keyword and monthly provider-cost ceilings within the displayed server-controlled allowances;
- choose a 5 × 5 or 7 × 7 grid, its spacing and the weekly scan day;
- choose an active practitioner as the default reviewer for new Content Studio documents;
- turn the directional AI visibility monitor on or off; and
- enable the safe GBP post or fix automations.
Grid keywords cannot exceed the tracked-keyword cap. Customer-managed values can be lowered but cannot raise the plan allowances. Changing the confirmed primary domain cancels website audits that are still queued or running so results cannot be recorded against the wrong site.
The GBP switches do not authorise arbitrary profile changes. Post automation is limited to the fixed cautious catalog template, while fix automation remains limited to allowlisted local intent that is checked against fresh Google state before it is applied.
Receive the weekly digest
When the SEO add-on is first enabled, SmileLine creates one Monday-morning SEO weekly digest subscription for each active owner at that time. The email covers the visibility score, tracked search leads and value, completed actions, recommended next actions and retained wins.
Open Reports → SEO weekly digest and click Schedule email to review, pause, edit or delete your subscription. Owners added later can opt in there; SmileLine does not silently recreate a subscription that someone disabled or deleted. Scheduled and test SEO digests stop when the SEO add-on is no longer active and resume only after current entitlement is confirmed.
Scores and attribution are directional operating signals. Use them with your practice's reporting and clinical governance rather than as guaranteed search or revenue outcomes.
